What We Do
Rebuild After Fire, Water, Mold, and Storm Damage
One Contractor, One Quote
The rebuild process normally involves contacting and coordinating with a variety of professionals, all of whom you have likely never worked with before. It is an overwhelming process, especially when you are already dealing with the damage to your home. KPM manages the entire project. Instead of organizing payments to a whole list of contractors, we provide you with one quote and one final cost. Our in-house construction division handles the majority of the work and outsources parts of the project to our reliable partners. This also saves you money versus working directly with each individual service provider.
What We Rebuild
Structural framing, load-bearing walls, roof systems, drywall, insulation, flooring (hardwood, tile, carpet, LVP), painting, trim, cabinetry, countertops, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. If it was damaged, we rebuild it to code and to your satisfaction.
Insurance-Grade Documentation
Our Xactimate estimates match what insurance adjusters expect. We document every line item, photograph every phase, and handle supplement requests when the scope changes. This protects you from underpayment and keeps the project moving without delays.
How Reconstruction Works
Our reconstruction process picks up where mitigation leaves off, with one team managing the entire project from cleanup to keys.
Scope & Estimate
After mitigation is complete, we assess reconstruction needs and create a detailed Xactimate estimate. We review the plan with you and your insurance adjuster before work begins.
Permits & Planning
We pull all necessary permits, coordinate with inspectors, and schedule the project timeline. You will have a clear plan with milestones and expected completion dates.
Structural Rebuild
Our in-house construction crews handle framing, drywall, roofing, flooring, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. All work is performed to current building codes.
Finishes & Detail Work
Painting, trim, cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, and hardware. We match existing finishes when possible or upgrade when you prefer.
Final Walkthrough
We walk the completed project with you, address any punch-list items, and ensure everything meets your expectations before we hand back the keys.

Common Questions
Reconstruction Services FAQ
Do I need a separate contractor for reconstruction?
No, that is the KPM advantage. We handle both mitigation and reconstruction. One company, one project manager, one insurance file. No gaps, no finger-pointing, no delays.
Will insurance pay for reconstruction?
If the damage is from a covered event, insurance typically pays for restoration to pre-loss condition. We create detailed Xactimate estimates and handle all carrier communication and supplements.
Can I upgrade finishes during reconstruction?
Yes. Many homeowners use reconstruction as an opportunity to upgrade flooring, countertops, fixtures, or layouts. We will show you options and explain any out-of-pocket differences beyond what insurance covers.
How long does reconstruction take?
Timeline depends on scope. Minor repairs take days. Full room or floor rebuilds take 2 to 6 weeks. Whole-home reconstruction after a major fire can take 2 to 6 months.
Are you licensed for structural work?
Yes. KPM is fully licensed and insured for structural construction, and we pull all required permits for every project.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Saratoga Springs, Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Glens Falls, Queensbury, Clifton Park, Kingston, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and the surrounding Capital Region and Hudson Valley areas.
